Castor started in Vila Musa, in 1962, in the town of Ourinhos, when Dr. Hélio Silva, following his father’s footsteps founded the company “Colchões Hélio Silva”, an industrial arts factory that used the hay cut from the margins of the Raposo Tavares Highway as raw material to manufacture mattresses.

The name “Castor” originated from an inspiration that Dr. Hélio Silva had when imagining the softness of a yarn of wool with a brand name that was precisely, Castor.

In 1983, the factory was transferred to the Ourinhos Industrial District, where it expanded physically and fulfilled its vocation for permanent modernization and constant technological improvement

At present Castor is a quality reference within its market, due to the constant investments in technology and the permanent updating of its design, besides the product innovations that provide a healthier and more comfortable life to its clients.

To serve the huge national territory, Castor counts on a factory in Ourinhos besides other units in Passo Fundo, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul and in Juiz de Fora, in the state of Minas Gerais, strategically located to make the product distribution logistics viable and satisfy the market demand, that is everyday attended to with the highest technology and unquestionable quality.
